AWeber Curate App Now Allows Podcasters to Embed Playable Audio Within Emails

New mobile app functionality allows podcasters to build deeper connections with their audience through email

Chalfont, PA, April 10, 2019 — AWeber, a leading small business email marketing and automation platform, today announced an innovative enhancement to its mobile-first, email content creation app, Curate, that allows podcasters to easily embed playable audio in their emails, and allows email recipients to play the podcast audio natively within supported email clients.

The new functionality pushes the boundaries of what has traditionally been thought impossible within an email, and lays the groundwork for future product developments.

“We love the podcasting community and want to help them continue to deepen their connections with their listeners through email,” said Meghan Nesta, mobile product manager at AWeber. “The Curate app allows podcasters to extend the audible connection they have with their listeners into a new medium where they have never been able to before.”

Using the Curate app, podcasters now have three ways to embed podcast audio in their emails:

  1. Dragging and dropping an RSS feed link into Curate
  2. Copying and pasting an RSS feed link into Curate
  3. Sharing-in episodes from the Apple Podcast app to Curate

Podcasters can share-in their latest podcast episodes, highlight a popular past episode, tease an upcoming season with a trailer, and more.

Once the audio is added to Curate, the app automatically generates an audio player within the email that is visible in the Apple Mail and Samsung Email apps.

While not all email clients support this new technology, a number of popular clients do, including Apple Mail, the iOS Mail app, Outlook for Mac, and the default Samsung mail app. A recent Email Client Market Share report by Litmus shows that Apple iPhone is the most-used email client, indicating a strong market opportunity for rich-media in emails.

“AWeber’s team continues to develop features that are not only immensely useful, but that are also directly evolved from their users’ needs and experiences,” said Mark Asquith, founder and CEO of Rebel Base Media. “It’s refreshing that something as typically ‘digitally traditional’ as email marketing can show such rapid and usable innovations.”

Curate is a first-of-its-kind, email content creation app that allows people to easily compose and send email messages to subscribers directly from a mobile device.

Using OS native features, you can quickly and easily share-in content from websites and blogs, apps like Instagram and Pinterest, image editing tools like Canva, Over and Adobe Spark, as well as images and content from your own mobile device.
