ActiveCampaign Acquires Australian Onesend to Bolster Offerings to Franchise Operators

Chicago-based marketing automation firm, ActiveCampaign, has expanded its suite of services with the acquisition of Onesend, a small yet innovative Australian company that caters to franchises, multi-location brands, and reseller agencies. ActiveCampaign’s recent purchases of specialised companies underscore a strategic pursuit of growth and diversification in the marketing automation landscape.

Despite having a modest turnover of what is reportedly less than $5 million per annum and being less than four years old, Onesend has made notable strides in the industry. Onesend offers a suite of tools – OnesendHQ, POSIFiQ by Onesend, and OnesendHQ Portal Companion – that caught the attention of larger industry players like ActiveCampaign.

The acquisition of Onesend demonstrates ActiveCampaign’s desire to offer a more comprehensive package in the competitive field of marketing automation. The trend has been consistent, with ActiveCampaign also snapping up Postmark and DMARCDigests last year.

Adding Onesend’s tools will broaden ActiveCampaign’s existing functionality. For instance, OnesendHQ enables multi-location and franchise brands to upscale their email and SMS messaging capabilities, POSIFiQ integrates point-of-sale systems with ActiveCampaign, and the OnesendHQ Portal Companion enhances ActiveCampaign’s partner portal with advanced analytics and account management capabilities.

In terms of manpower, Onesend’s three employees, who are all based in Australia currently, will move to ActiveCampaign’s Chicago headquarters, signifying a deep devotion to integrating Onesend’s services into its diverse offerings. This move follows Onesend’s prior collaboration with ActiveCampaign in the Asia-Pacific region since 2020.

This acquisition could pose significant advantages for resellers, franchises, and multi-location businesses. ActiveCampaign’s growing ecosystem already includes over 3,000 agency partners and more than 900 app integration partners that stand to benefit from the bolstered services provided by the new acquisition.

This strategic move promises more than just business growth. For ActiveCampaign, it indicates a commitment to becoming a comprehensive one-stop solution for marketing automation, while Onesend will gain access to a larger, international customer base. How this synergy will affect the broader industry will be closely watched in the coming months.
