Dotdigital Group plc has named Thomas (Tom) Mullan as its new Chief Financial Officer, following the departure of Alistair Gurney. The appointment, announced recently, signals Dotdigital’s continued focus on growth and operational transformation in the global marketing automation landscape.
Mullan brings over two decades of experience in finance leadership roles across the software sector. Most notably, he served as CFO of Gresham Technologies PLC from 2018 to 2024, where he played a key role in the company’s SaaS transition, international expansion, and M&A strategy. His tenure culminated in Gresham’s transition to private ownership in 2024.
His earlier career includes finance leadership positions at Fadata Group, a private equity-backed insurance software provider, and nearly eight years at Guidewire Software, where he led EMEA finance and operations during a period of rapid growth and supported the company’s IPO on the New York Stock Exchange.
Mullan began his career at Ernst & Young (EY), where he qualified as a chartered certified accountant (ACCA) and held roles across the UK, US, and Australia.
In addition to his executive roles, Mullan served on the South-East Regional Advisory Board of Business in the Community (2019–2023), contributing to corporate responsibility initiatives in the UK.
His appointment comes as Dotdigital continues to scale its operations and invest in platform innovation. The company said Mullan’s blend of financial, operational, and public company experience will help support its long-term strategic goals.
