Users can access it through Outlook applications and Outlook on the web, with support for shared mailboxes, shared calendars and global address lists.
Administrators manage users and resources through Microsoft 365 and handle mail flow, migration and mobile access through the Exchange admin centre. Exchange Online is available within Microsoft 365 subscriptions and through standalone plans. These services support organisational mailbox hosting and collaboration. For licensed Exchange Online users, a shared mailbox can hold up to 50 GB without a separate mailbox licence. Larger shared mailboxes and features such as litigation hold require the appropriate additional licence.
