mail-tester.com checks a message sent from the user's own email system to a generated test address. The report examines the message, sending server and IP address, and gives a score with configuration findings. Its SpamAssassin test uses a default installation, with the score reversed so that a higher result is better.

The service also publishes tools for SPF, DKIM, DMARC, BIMI and DNS checks. Paid accounts provide a JSON API and iframe integration, custom result-page styling and usage statistics. These options let software providers incorporate the checks into their own workflows.
The web interface permits three free tests in 24 hours; subscriptions and extra test packs are available. Results remain accessible for seven days on the free service or 30 days for account tests using a personal prefix, and anyone with the exact test address can view them. Sending again to the same address replaces the previous result. A high score does not establish placement in every recipient's inbox.
Separate utilities include a phishing-link checker and a DMARC report analyser.
