Telefónica Tech, the digital transformation company, has expanded its partnership with cybersecurity and compliance firm Proofpoint to launch ‘Clean Email Business.’ This new service aims to bolster the security of corporate email for medium-sized businesses, ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering business continuity. The service, currently available in Spain, will soon be extended to other markets.
‘Clean Email Business’ is a cloud-delivered security service that bolsters the cyber resilience of companies by leveraging Proofpoint’s advanced technology and the support of Telefónica Tech’s Security Operations Centers (SOCs). The offering aims to address common vulnerabilities, as corporate email often provides a significant entry point for cybercriminals.
The service comprises comprehensive features, including spam filtering, analysis of attachments and malicious URLs, and protection against diverse threats and Business Emails Compromise (BEC) attacks. The latter features cybercriminals impersonating high-ranking executives to extract critical information or misappropriate company funds.
Security professionals from Telefónica Tech’s SOCs extend their expertise to resolve all types of cyber threats, even critical incidents that could potentially bring businesses to a halt.
“Businesses can decisively shrink the attack surface for cybercriminals with our ‘Clean Email Business’ service. It represents another significant step towards the secure digital transformation of SMEs, supported by Proofpoint’s advanced technology and our SOC experts’ proactive incident management and resolution,” stated Alberto Sempere, Director of Cyber Security Products and Services at Telefónica Tech.
Fernando Anaya, Country Manager for Iberia at Proofpoint, noted the persistent business risk from email fraud, with their data indicating that 90% of Spanish businesses reported an attempted Business Email Compromise attack last year. He added, “Our reinforced partnership with Telefónica Tech empowers businesses in Spain to fortify their email channels, and prevent threats from reaching their users with sophisticated email security.”
This expanded partnership solidifies Telefónica Tech’s commitment to provide an extensive portfolio of managed corporate email protection services. It targets both medium-sized businesses with ‘Clean Email Business’ and large enterprises via the ‘Clean Email Enterprise’ service launched last year.
